It's Freedom of Religion

The administration recently changed the phrase “freedom of religion” to “freedom of worship” in speeches. Is it a big deal indicating a policy shift?

Biblical roles of Men and Women

Perhaps nothing differentiates “modern” and traditional Christianity more than the role of men and women. Those promoting a recent social justice version discard parts of the Bible not fitting their position, frequently by arguing those parts have historical meaning only. Does that make sense? Can we pick and choose what is God’s Word and what isn’t? If so, how can that be done, and who gets to make the rules (since it isn’t God)?

More on Dawkins and Morality-No absolutes

Previously Richard Dawkins, when asked for his definition of morality, responded “Moral philosophic reasoning and a shifting zeitgeist.” In short, society defines whatever it believes is right and wrong. That’s value relativism where nothing is right or wrong—absolute morality doesn’t exist according to Dawkins. But is his answer consistent? In another discussion Dawkins again answers the question.

Bill Maher Show and Intolerant Atheists

Bill Maher may hold strange views, but one thing we admire him for—he’ll state his views straight out, without any attempt to sugar coat it or show tact (at least he’s honest and proudly proclaims his views, in contrast to others who attempt to hide it. He’s consistent in his atheist far-left elitist views). Recently on his show atheist S.E. Cupp appeared, whose latest book titled “Losing Our Religion: The Liberal Media’s Attack on Christianity” created some interesting discussion, and displayed the paradox of atheism.

The First Amendment: Separation of Church and State

The “separation of church and state” phrase gets thrown about frequently as a first amendment issue, but you’d be surprised to see the phrase doesn’t appear where it’s frequently credited. So what does separation of church and state imply?

Presidents' day Honors Washington and Lincoln

Originally Presidents Day was known as Washington’s birthday, but later Lincoln was added to the mix. As usual, Congress messed with what was known as Washington’s birthday to help create the confusion. But in any event, President’s Day honors Washington and Lincoln.

Book Review: In Justice by Alan Sears

In Justice by Alan Sears describes a story similar to Orwell’s “1984”, but relating to first amendment freedoms, specifically religious freedoms. This issue remains at the forefront today, whether it’s speaking on your beliefs, religious displays, so-called “hate speech”, and more. The book considers what might happen if today’s politically correct movement continues to grow.

Schuller Cancels "Glory of Easter"

The church founded by Robert Schuller canceled it’s famous “Glory of Easter” production due to rough economic times.

A Question of Atheist Morality and Holidays

According to atheist morality, morals are not absolute but shift with society. Why then do atheists protest over Christmas displays, when society overwhelmingly approves of them? Atheists don’t appear to follow their own moral view.

Of Penguins and People

An examination of Jesus’ command to take up your cross and follow Him. What cross does He speak of?

How much is a Trillion?

As huge numbers are thrown around during discussions, just how much are they talking about? More importantly, what advice did Solomon have concerning financial matters we should consider when speaking of trillion dollar deficits.

What is Doublethink?

Many believe Orwell’s Doublethink (from the book “1984”) is just fiction. Yet today it exists - consider this one example showing Doublethink exists and appears regularly.

Didactic and Dialectic Thought

To understand current events, you need to understand the two methods of analysis. While older generations used facts and logic, newer methods involve group-think and consensus, avoiding facts and deductive analysis. Problems for the church arise as concepts such as sin and hell shift to more “user-friendly” ideas, abandoning the firm foundation of God’s Word for the shifting sand of man’s ever-changing wisdom.

The Future of the United States

As a recent survey claims the United States is becoming less Christian, what does the future hold for the country? Is the country destined to become like Europe, or can the slide be halted?

Tolerance Redefined

What does tolerance really mean today? Be careful with your answer, as some people don’t mean what everyone else does by tolerance - how can some people promoting “tolerance” be so intolerant of others? The answer comes from a book written long ago.
