The reported deal (subject to change) is about $2,500,000,000,000 ($2.5 Trillion) in more debt, over two years. That’s about $8,000 for each man, woman, and child in the country. For a family of 4, that means Obama and Congress just charged $300 PER WEEK over the next two years on your credit card.

The politically correct crowd likes to boast about tolerance and acceptance of others, but if you’ve ever disagreed with them you’ll quickly discover how far their intolerance will go to defend their anti-definition of tolerance. Sound bizarre? Are you asking yourself who could be that illogical? Consider the following quote from a so-called “tolerant” person:
We’ve heard much about the Casey Anthony trial, but if you’ve read our about page you know we’re not interested in news per se, but how that news applies to you. In this incident, we’ll draw some conclusions about the legal system — good or bad — instead of continuing other discussion you’ll find elsewhere.
Like everything in Washington, spending and the deficit is political. No sane person denies the Obama deficit is a staggering problem and must be dealt with, the difference is some people want to deal with it now, others want to ignore it until later. Who understands the seriousness of the problem? This was said on the Senate floor:
It’s been a while since we covered The Beginning of the Financial Crisis; some people finally noticed fixing the housing market requires people to actually pay their mortgage (gasp! horror!), and the old standard of 20% down might actually be a good idea so borrowers are financially motivated not to walk away from their obligation (as many are doing).
The increasing Federal deficit rises to the top issue these days as the government seeks to increase the amount they spend on your credit card. The size of deficit spending in the Obama administration is truly breathtaking (and not in a good way). Unfortunately, they’ve been lying to you about the deficit for years, as far back as the myth of the surplus from the Clinton era.
We wrote about the gender neutral NIV translation back in 2009, but an interesting note of the perils of the trendy “gender neutral” translation come from none other than staunch anti-religious atheist Christopher Hitchens.
The “Freedom from Religion Foundation” attempt to force their views onto everyone else crashes and burns in a spectacular fireball; the National Day of Prayer began in the 1950’s (so it’s a recent effort by atheists to squash it), and the law roughly reads:
It seems it’s trendy now to be concerned about the Federal debt. Unfortunately if you actually examine what Washington has to say you’ll find it’s 100% devoid of any reality. Exhibit “A” in this delusion: President Obama’s speech on fiscal discipline and reducing the national debt of April 13 2011, where he made the following stunning whopper:
Another court case involving religion and the First Amendment popped up recently. Unfortunately, the ACLU once again shows they’ve never actually read the First Amendment.
The situation in Wisconsin certainly stirred up a mess, didn’t it? Some progressive religious people rush into the fray, trying to score points using events to further their agenda (what’s that about fools rushing in where angels fear to tread?).
Dale Earnhardt was (is) the best driver of all time. Nobody could do what he did on the track. Period.
As has been said, “it’s not bragging if you can back it up”. And man could Dale back it up. Some loved him, some hated him, but everyone respected him, and most (if you were smart) feared him on the track — the worst thing a driver could see was a black hood closing up behind him.
Dale raced to win, not for points.
Another judge declared Obamacare against the Constitution, declaring in part:
It is difficult to imagine that a nation which began, at least in part, as the result of opposition to a British mandate giving the East India Company a monopoly and imposing a nominal tax on all tea sold in America would have set out to create a government with the power to force people to buy tea in the first place.
Very few people would disagree public education is anything other than a failure as it gets worse and worse. A new study proves college fails in the most important idea to teach: learning how to learn, with logic and critical thinking.
As always, after any tragedy like the assassination attempt of a US Congressman in Arizona, various people and groups always attempt to spin it for political advantage, as Rahm Emanuel proclaimed “Never let a crisis go to waste”.
It didn’t even take hours for the political spin and blame-game to begin.
We previously noted Obamacare ends the republic, but at least one judge stands against the absurd and twisted idea not buying a product is commerce. For those judges and others needing a refresher, let’s review the definition:
com·merce — noun. An interchange of goods or commodities, esp. on a large scale between different countries (foreign commerce) or between different parts of the same country (domestic commerce); trade; business. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/commerce
What is judicial activism? Many slap it on any court decision they don’t like. In reality it’s failing to follow The Constitution, changing the clear and plain meaning. We recently noted how the government would defend Obamacare (using an abuse of the commerce clause). The Virginia court cites that bizarre activist ruling as a precedent in upholding forced nationalized healthcare.
Much has been written for and against the TSA’s new screening policies. We won’t wade into the battle here, because one point missed in the media frenzy — according to current legal case law, once you enter a “secured” area of an airport you’re essentially under Federal arrest as you may not leave the secured area without permission — even if you choose not to fly, as someone in San Diego found out the hard way after he decided he rather not fly than be subjected to the new enhanced procedures.
Paul Krugman doesn’t hide his far-left leanings (calling his blog the “conscience of a liberal”), perhaps why his economic policies frequently come out rather bizarre and slanted.
It’s been a week since the election; if you’re a political geek you’re likely stuffed with all the pundits proclaiming this and that. But two issues the media left unexplored:
- The Filibuster — how to keep it and return to what it is supposed to be.
- Why Republicans not taking the Senate is good for the Republic (and it has nothing to do with partisan politics like D’s and R’s).
Today’s drama stars Mr. Banker and Mr. Fed, and our hero Quantitative Easing. It’s a production you won’t want to miss, because you’re one of the cast! Will our hero be able to save the masses from economic calamity? Or will the hero turn out to be a zero? Join the cast of millions as our hero burns through Billions in cash like he created it out of thin air! A must-see drama! Gripping! Thrilling! Suspenseful!
Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor” rally drew much attention, but it also gave fuel to the on-going feud between Beck and Sojourners’ Jim Wallis, as a big difference between the views of Beck and Wallis surrounds “social justice”.
Remember James Carville’s famous slogan for the Clinton campaign—“it’s the economy, stupid”? It was meant to remind staffers to always stay on message, and the message was the economy. With that single issue, Clinton won the election.
Today it’s massive Federal debt, and the yearly deficit topping a Trillion dollars. The bigger problem? The official numbers don’t tell the real story:
From the that-didn’t-take-long department:
The Obama administration has officially approved the first instance of taxpayer funded abortions under the new national government-run health care program. This is the kind of abortion funding the pro-life movement warned about when Congress considered the bill.
The Obama Administration will give Pennsylvania $160 million to set up a new “high-risk” insurance program under a provision of the federal health care legislation enacted in March.
It has quietly approved a plan submitted by an appointee of pro-abortion Governor Edward Rendell under which the new program will cover any abortion that is legal in Pennsylvania. http://lifenews.com/nat6531.html
Perhaps you’ve heard the “Cloward and Piven strategy” mentioned. What exactly is it? And how does it play into the wildly increasing Federal debt, failure to act on a number of issues, and general political philosophy (“Never let a crisis go to waste”)?
Coming on the heals of debunking the Myth of the Surplus, deficit-deniers are back at it again with the sequel “Myth of the Stimulus”, touting a CBO report (May 26, 2010) claiming millions of jobs created—but does the report have any relevance to reality? We’ll quickly see it does not.
Bill Maher may hold strange views, but one thing we admire him for—he’ll state his views straight out, without any attempt to sugar coat it or show tact (at least he’s honest and proudly proclaims his views, in contrast to others who attempt to hide it. He’s consistent in his atheist far-left elitist views). Recently on his show atheist S.E. Cupp appeared, whose latest book titled “Losing Our Religion: The Liberal Media’s Attack on Christianity” created some interesting discussion, and displayed the paradox of atheism.
The “separation of church and state” phrase gets thrown around frequently as a first amendment issue, but you’d be surprised to see the phrase doesn’t appear where it’s frequently credited—in the first amendment to the Constitution.
The yearly Federal budget deficit is on everyone’s mind these days. Many use it to score political points, but with few exceptions, both political parties failed the American people in controlling the debt monster. Certainly the debt isn’t a new problem to this administration — remember SchoolHouse Rock from decades ago?
President’s Day adds to the vast lack of historical knowledge of the average person, as well as general historical confusion.
The church founded by Robert Schuller canceled it’s famous “Glory of Easter” production due to rough economic times. Seeing the production many years ago showed it was an impressive event. It’s sad to see it go, but in tough times it’s certainly not the most important activity for the church to engage in.
On occasion different news stores appear unrelated, but turn out connected. Let’s connect the dots and see what turns out. The first story comes from Florida Democrat Alan Grayson (who’s 15 minutes appears to be about up) on his latest media-grabbing statement — only this time, (almost) everyone agrees his ship isn’t firmly tied to the pier.
Paul wrote the troubled church at Corinth on a wide range of issues including divisions, marriage and divorce, social occasions and more, but sadly in the last 2,000 years the church refuses to learn the lessons. Exhibit “A” in the we-never-learn category:
With all the talk of economic depression, stimulus, sub-prime mortgages — and of course all the political grandstanding, finger pointing, and attempts to use the situation to further political agendas, most people have a simple question:
How did the country get in this mess?
Chevrolet. Nascar. No.3. The Intimidator. The Man in black. In the word association game, any racing fan knows what comes next - Dale Earnhardt. The finest stock car driver the world has ever seen was tragically killed in a crash at Daytona speedway. Many questions remain: were rule changes too much? Did they violate safety? What if Earnhardt had used some of the newer safety equipment? Would he have lived to race again? No one knows.
Should a Christian refuse medical treatment and rely on faith and prayer alone to heal? Consider the following news out of Oregon:
PORTLAND — A legislative leader says Oregon lawmakers will take another look at state laws in the light of the death of a 16-year-old boy who died of a treatable urinary tract disorder while family and church members prayed over him.
So another pastor in Chicago just can’t remain focused on God during his time in the pulpit. This time the point of wrath is Hillary Clinton. We’ve commented on the bizarre nature of pastors losing focus in the pulpit before when the Jeremiah Wright controversy came up, and this is more of the same. Why can’t pastors stick to teaching the Word of God?
By now everyone has seen the shocking video of the planned, premeditated, brutal beating of a school girl by her peers. As the bizarre video continues to play across the airwaves, the question remains, what was the motive behind this savage act? That’s the shocking revelation in this story — it appears the only reason for the beating was to get video on the Internet; their 15 minutes of fame we guess.
All the recent flap over the comments of pastor Jeremiah Wright illustrates an important point. It’s not really about his comments, or if Obama himself supported them (or heard them at all), it’s not even about racism — those are all political issues and have been discussed elsewhere ad nauseum without resolution (issues which we will not discuss here as they are irrelevant to the point).
Whoreable Behavior
That’s the title of Ann Coulter’s article about New York Governor Eliot Spitzer. By now, everyone should have heard the story – the up and coming Democrat Governor of New York (some said he was Presidential material) wasted tens of thousands of dollars on prostitutes and resigned.
