Notes on our continuing study in Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians are now available for chapter three.
In chapter three Paul turns to the carnal Christian — those not walking by the spirit, but frequently by legalism. Those cause problems in the church as they attempt to force their regulations on everyone else, and argue everyone must follow “their” rules. What does Paul have to say about carnal Christians? Are Christians weak if they don’t follow the rules?
Additionally, the church at Corinth divided among several teachers, and again argued over which one was correct. Paul already discussed the superiority of God’s wisdom and the failure of man’s in chapter two, so the obvious point becomes why would a church cause division over following certain teachers?
Finally, Paul discusses eternal rewards.
