1 John Commentary

John was the last apostle alive and wrote to combat the heresy teaching of a group called the Gnostics which spread false doctrine. He writes to set the record straight as he walked and talked with Jesus for years. Thus, he could refute false teaching with eyewitness accounts. John writes to combat heresy, teach about love, and provide assurance of salvation.

These studies are from 2001 and provide a complete verse by verse commentary on the entire book.

They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever. (Psalms 125:1-2 KJV)
